Prof. Dr. iur. Regula Dettling-Ott is a lawyer specializing in air law and aviation policy. From 2017 until 2023 she was the chair of the Performance Review Body of the Single European Sky (PRB), an expert body of the European Commission. As a member of the EU Commissions’ Wise Persons Group on the future of the Single European Sky, she provided recommendations to the European Commission on how to improve air traffic management in the EU.

From 2010 to 2016, Regula Dettling-Ott represented the Lufthansa Group as Vice-President EU Affairs. Before joining the Lufthansa Group, Regula Dettling-Ott was responsible for Industry Relations & Government Affairs at Swiss International Air Lines. With the integration of SWISS into the Lufthansa Group, she was responsible for securing traffic rights.

Working as an attorney, Regula Dettling-Ott settled liability claims for airlines and helicopter companies and their insurers after aircraft accidents and accompanied the aircraft accident investigation from a legal perspective, including major airline accidents. She represented airlines in the proceedings for new operating regulations for Zurich Airport following the approach restrictions over Germany.

As a lecturer and member of the faculty (Habilitation), Regula Dettling-Ott taught air law at the University of Bern until 2025. Since 2026 she is a senior research fellow at the Swiss Hub for Air and Space Law of the World Trade Institute of the University of Bern.

Regula Dettling-Ott regularly participates in aviation conferences as a speaker and has published numerous articles.
