ABSTRACT: This paper studies the reasons why some Latin American States have recently decided to denounce and terminate international investment agreements and the ICSID Convention. It analyses the consequences of that choice, focused especially on the alternatives to treaty-based Investor-State arbitration that those countries are pursuing.
