"I enjoyed interacting with the course lecturers. Mr Gottlieb and Dr Papp gave me great advice for my future career!"

Petra Bilos travelled from Croatia to Bern to attend some Summer Academy courses at the WTI. Here is her testimonial.

Last Friday marked the end of WTI’s Summer Academy course International Contracts Regarding Cross-Borders Trade and Investment which was taught by Benjamin Gottlieb, partner in the Dispute Resolution Group at Schellenberg Wittmer Ltd., and Dr Réka Ágnes Papp, legal counsel at the law firm Archipel, in Geneva.

The course provided an overview of the legal framework of international contracts, including domestic and international sources with a special focus on the CISG and sector-specific rules. The course enabled participants to understand the essential elements of international contracts and how to solve the disputes that might arise in connection with them. This course was well attended by Government officials, stakeholders working in the legal practice and banking sector (World Bank), academics as well as WTI’s Master and CAS students.

One of the course participants was Petra Bilos, who works in the Law office Jasminka Biloš in Croatia. Ms. Bilos travelled from Croatia to Bern to attend the Summer Academy course on-site at the WTI as she wanted to increase her knowledge in the field of international investment. Her expectations of the course were not only met but were exceeded, particularly, she enjoyed interacting with the lecturers, who also provided her with great advice for her future career.

Ms. Bilos truly enjoyed her first week in Bern and is now starting another course of WTI’s Summer Academy: International Investment Law and Sustainable Development.
