Peter Van den Bossche lectures and attends a workshop in Taiwan

WTI Director of Studies Peter Van den Bossche has paid a visit to Taiwan where he delivered a series of lectures and attended a workshop.

On 16 December Professor Van den Bossche gave a keynote lecture on 'The Current Challenge of WTO Reform at the 2019 WTO International Symposium', organised by the Office of Trade Negotiations of Taiwan.

On the following day, he participated in a workshop on 'WTO reform, national security and digital trade', organised for officials of the Office of Trade Negotiations and presided by John Chen-Chung Deng, Minister without Portfolio, Executive Yuan, and Chief Trade Negotiator, Taiwan.

On 18 and 19 December, Prof. Van den Bossche visited three WTI partner institutions in Taiwan: the Chung Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER), the National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), and the National Taiwan University (NTU). For students and staff of the NTHU and the NTU, he gave a lecture on 'The Resolution of International Trade Disputes in 2020 and Beyond', and 'Trade Wars and Their Impact on Global Trade and Small Economies' respectively.
