Week two of Winter Academy focuses on WTO law on anti-dumping and safeguard measures

In the second week of the Winter Academy now underway at the WTI participants learned about the role of anti-dumping and safeguard measures in international trade regulation.

The course was introduced by Edwin Vermulst, who specialises in the representation of multinationals, governments, trade associations, exporters and importers in EU and WTO TDI and customs proceedings. He provided an overview of the WTO Anti-Dumping Agreement.

The last two days of the course were taught by Fernando Piérola – a senior lawyer at the Advisory Centre on WTO Law (ACWL) in Geneva, Switzerland. His focus was on the disciplines on safeguards in the WTO legal system.

Course participants said they particularly appreciated the lecturers’ expert knowledge and practical experience. The exercises, interactions and discussions during class were also well received.

The Winter Academy runs until 14 February.
