Class gets underway for the 2020-2021 MILE and TRAIL+ programmes

This year’s induction days for the incoming MILE and TRAIL+ students took place on 9 and 10 September, with most of them attending the orientation sessions and the Opening Ceremony online.

The new students come from China, India, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and Uzbekistan, and were officially welcomed at the Opening Ceremony of the 2020-21 WTI Advanced Master Programmes, which took place in the Silva Casa Auditorium on Wednesday, 9 September.

Five of the new students were able to attend the induction days on site while the remaining students joined in online. Those who started the programme online can continue their studies in Bern anytime.

During the Opening Ceremony on Wednesday, Prof. Em. Giorgio Sacerdoti from Bocconi University, delivered a keynote speech on "WTO post COVID-19: What Challenges for the Multilateral Trading System?" The slides he used during his speech are linked below.

The students will beginn their course work on Monday, 14 September, which is the official starting date of the Autumn Semester at the University of Bern. We wish them a very good start!
