Peter Van den Bossche delivers Opening Lecture of UNITAR-organised Online Course on WTO Dispute Settlement
On 23 June 2021, WTI Director of Studies Peter Van den Bossche gave the opening lecture of the online course on Solving Disputes at the WTO for Developing Countries, organised by the New York Office of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
Over 300 participants registered for this three-day course, focusing how a well-functioning WTO dispute settlement system can, and would, benefit developing countries. In his lecture, Van den Bossche highlighted the extensive use made of the WTO dispute settlement system by developing countries to date, examined the current existential crisis of the system and discussed the importance of rules-based WTO dispute settlement for developing countries.
