Prof. Elisa Fornalé is invited to become a Member of the Newly Launched WTO Gender Research Hub

The aim of this initiative is to deepen the understanding of the impact of trade on women and gender equality. The Hub serves as a knowledge-gathering platform where the latest research is shared.

The Hub includes trade and gender researchers and experts from the WTO Secretariat, seven international organisations and regional organisations, four members of the WTO's Chairs Programme (Mexico, Chile, Barbados and South Africa), and eight universities.

Gender experts from the private sector, non-governmental organisations and think-tanks will also be invited, on an ad-hoc basis, to present recent findings from current research, to share new perspectives and to expand multidisciplinary research on trade and gender issues.

SNF Prof. Elisa Fornalé has been invited to become a member of the WTO Gender Research Hub. She has extensive experience in this field and has contributed significantly to research on gender and trade. Prof. Fornalé leads the WTI Gender Team and will teach a course on Trade and Gender in the WTI's 2022 Summer Academy.
