The Quest for International Law in Financial Regulation and Monetary Affairs

Edited by John H. Jackson, Thomas Cottier and Rosa M. Lastra in Journal of International Economic Law, Vol. 13, No. 3, September 2010

The 2007–2009 financial crisis triggered a worldwide recession and slump in international trade, leading to loss of jobs, savings and opportunities. The crisis demonstrates the need for financial and monetary regulatory reform; for appropriate mechanisms for settling financial disputes and for regulating cross-border financial institutions. NCCR researchers have contributed to a special issue of the Journal of International Economic Law, edited by John H. Jackson, Thomas Cottier and Rosa Lastra, which was published in September 2010. The articles are the outcome of a symposium on The Quest for International Law in Financial Regulation held in London in May 2010 and attended by renowned academics working in this field.
