Closing the Legal Gap to Protect the Victims of Climate Change Induced Displacement

This contribution describes climate change induced displacement (CCID), the legal norms protecting persons affected by it, and how existing law provides the basis for such protection.

Abstract

The authors argue that even today there is law and there are actors that can provide this protection. Although they do not deny that the law and the mandates of actors can be improved, they suggest that the immediate priority should be ensuring that persons subject to CCID are protected.
